Therapy is an act of courage—and an act of liberation.

Reaching out for help is not a sign that something is “wrong” with you. It’s a sign that you are ready for support, clarity, and change. Many of the struggles we carry—anxiety, depression, trauma responses, relationship challenges, burnout, disconnection—are not individual shortcomings. They are often natural reactions to chronic stress, overwhelming experiences, and systems that were never designed with all of us in mind.

As a therapist, educator, Navy veteran, and practitioner grounded in trauma-informed and liberation psychologies, I work from the belief that wellness is both personal and collective. Healing happens not just by “fixing symptoms,” but by understanding the contexts that shape our experiences—family systems, community, culture, and the broader social forces that impact our sense of safety and belonging.

My Approach

I support individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, moral injury, life transitions, chronic stress, and relationship challenges. I also work extensively with veterans, first responders, disabled individuals, and those whose distress is tied to systemic oppression—racism, ableism, poverty, colonialism, gender oppression, and other forms of violence that leave a psychological mark.

My role is not to diagnose what’s wrong with you—but to collaborate with you to uncover what has happened to you, what you’ve survived, and what strengths you’ve carried forward. Together, we can explore new ways of relating to your emotions, your story, and your environment—building resilience, reconnecting with meaning, and cultivating the conditions for healing.

Therapy with Me

In our work, you can expect:

  • A trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and anti-oppressive perspective

  • Space for your whole identity and lived experiences

  • Collaboration rather than hierarchy

  • Tools to help you navigate distress, reconnect with your body, and rebuild trust in yourself

  • A deep respect for the wisdom you already carry

Healing is not about perfection—it’s about reclaiming parts of yourself that have been silenced, overwhelmed, or marginalized.

And you don’t have to do it alone.

About Me

blueberries

My name is Dr. Jeremy W. Grisham (he/him), and I am a trauma-informed therapist, educator, and medically retired Navy Hospital Corpsman. My work is shaped by years of serving individuals and communities who have experienced trauma, transition, systemic barriers, and profound change. I bring a grounding presence, clinical expertise, and a commitment to helping people reconnect with their strength, identity, and sense of possibility.

My path to this work began long before I became a therapist. As a Navy corpsman serving with Marines, I witnessed firsthand how trauma unfolds—in the body, in relationships, and across the lifespan. After my military career ended, I dedicated myself to understanding healing at deeper levels: the psychological, the ecological, the cultural, and the systemic. I earned my Doctorate in Education with a focus on trauma, ecotherapy, and liberation psychologies, and have since taught graduate-level courses, developed community programs, and led counseling and disability support initiatives across Washington State.

These experiences fundamentally shape the way I practice.

How I Work

I approach therapy through the lens of what has happened to you—not what is “wrong” with you. I recognize that many mental health struggles emerge from trauma, chronic stress, moral injury, and the weight of systems that constrain or erase people’s experiences. My clinical style is collaborative, relational, and grounded in the belief that healing is possible when we understand our stories in the context of the environments we’ve had to survive.

I work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship concerns, identity development, moral injury, and life transitions. I also specialize in supporting veterans, first responders, disabled individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people whose distress is tied to systemic oppression—racism, ableism, colonialism, gender oppression, and other forms of structural violence.

What You Can Expect

In our sessions, I offer:

  • A space where your full self is welcomed

  • A trauma-informed and anti-oppressive stance

  • Deep respect for your lived experience

  • Practical strategies rooted in evidence-based care

  • Patience, honesty, and collaboration

  • An understanding that healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in relationship

My goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and supported as you navigate whatever you’re carrying. Healing is not linear, but it is possible—and you don’t have to walk that path alone.

“Own your power, take up space.  Speak up.  Hold the door open and take others with you.  Change takes courage but do it anyway.”
